25 Gift Ideas: What Women Want

It can be challenging to choose a great gift. So, I recruited my best gal pals and asked each of them what types of gifts they'd love to receive for a special occasion like Valentine's, an anniversary, or a birthday. Together, we came up with 25 awesome gift ideas to help you get inspired.

25 Gift Ideas:                 What Women Want

1. Flowers for every holiday!!! I'm a little weird when it comes to gifts. For Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and anniversary I consider those "sentimental holidays" so I prefer a sentimental gift. For my birthday or Christmas I'm not picky, but I love fluffy socks and hoodies.

2. Workout gear! Running shoes.

3. Love letters, I'm a words of affirmation person for sure.

4. A day to myself! Whether with friends or just by myself, but it would have to include all day and night (no participation in bedtime routines with the kiddos). That would be the best gift ever!

5. Something I would never think to do for myself like a spa day or something to pamper me (blow dry bar, nails done, etc).

6. A good book or a new journal.

7. A new playlist on my Spotify account with music that reminds my husband of me (since people don't burn CDs anymore haha)

8. Make memories. My husband and I decided this year that we aren't really going to celebrate our birthdays as much and we want to go all out for our anniversary instead! Since we aren't really gift people, we want to build memories instead while really making a point to celebrate our marriage. I just finished reading Present Over Perfect and was inspired by that book to suggest this concept to my husband.

9. Any and all running/yoga attire

10. Craft supplies

11. A clean dog and a clean car

12. Plants in small containers

13. Boutique gym month long membership.

14. WINE

15. Anything having to do with Chai

16. I love when my husband surprises me. I don't care what it is but I just appreciate that he thought of me. Especially when he randomly brings me home sunflowers. Or Sometimes he'll randomly get me a gift card somewhere if he knows I need something. It's super thoughtful and that way I can pick out whatever I want.

17.  Soooo… I don’t really like physical stuff. My husband and I don’t really exchange gifts for birthdays, valentines, etc. A lot of times, getting physical gifts feels like a burden more than a gift for me because I’m really particular and strive to live a minimalist lifestyle. When I get something that doesn’t fit somewhere into my life, I can feel overwhelmed because of the pressure to keep it and not offend the giver (cause I mean no offense!!) “Non-material Gifts” I love:

-Things that have a shelf life (yummy treats, groupons for activities, etc).

-Services (filling my gas tank, sharing your talents, babysitting, etc.)

-Fulfilling a dream (Like when my friends pitched in to get the briefcase I really wanted but couldn’t push myself to buy – I still use it everyday and think of them!)

-Aaaaaand – the kicker is something that hits all 3 things!! My husband proposing to me every year on our anniversary, asking if I’d have him for another year!! (#1) It always involved a fun date. (#2) I never dreamed I’d experience such a crazy thing. He does it differently every time! (#3) I get a ring to keep, cherish, and wear that year as a reminder of our new commitment.

18. Valentine gift: flowers from Farm Giirl flowers, dark chocolate, & art supplies.

19. Airplane tickets to Greece, Spain, Ireland or Scotland!!!!!

20. I'm pretty easy. I love gifts- anything that shows you were willing to sacrifice your time, effort, and hard earned finances means something to me.  I especially love food and drink items that are incredibly delicious, and once again, free. Cheesecake and coffee makes me very happy. Other than that, sparkles are always a winner (whether or not they are real matters little to me), and I think handmade gifts from creative and talented friends is always really special.  Finally, when people sacrifice their time to show up to support things I've really worked hard on, like a show, concert, or graduation, I am especially touched.

21. Gift card to Burke Williams or to any place for a mani/pedi.

22. Coffee. Coffee gift cards. Coffee beans. Coffee mugs. Hot coffee you just ordered for me. It all works. Also, chocolate from See's candies. Or ice cream.

23. A clean house. I LOVE coming home to a clean house! It's one of the best feelings in the world. It's super thoughtful and makes me feel very loved. It also helps me relax and enjoy hanging out. And I like being surprised with a clean car too.

24. I'm not really a gifts person. So knowing the person's love language is important, but I guess I love when he pays attention to stuff I love or things I've had my eye on.

25. I like when people buy me practical things I need or want that I would't normally buy for myself. For our first anniversary, my husband surprised me with a pair of rock climbing shoes. We we're getting into climbing and it was so nice that he did all the research and found shoes for me. I liked that I didn't have to think about it, or stress about the cost. I'm can be really frugal, so sometimes I need him to just pay and tell me about it after the fact.
